Welcome Bernadette to NTASR! Or as we call her, Bea. 
Bea comes to us as an owner surrender. She just turned a year old. Bea is the sweetest most gentlest soul you’ll ever meet. Right now she is terrified of people. She’s been with us a few months now and is finally taking baby steps. She finds comfort and safety in her crate and will retreat there whenever she is inside. If you are really quiet and mind your own business, you’ll catch her sneaking out to check on you. But the second you make eye contact she goes back in her crate. She is finally trusting her foster momma and accepting pets and hair time (cuz who doesn’t love a doodle with a pony tail). 
Bea outside is a completely different dog. She bounces and plays and runs and has all the energy a 1 year old doodle should have!! She LOVES other dogs and will probably need another playful and well socialized dog in the home to show her the ropes and help her with confidence. She is doing great with house breaking and is obviously already kennel trained. 
Bea will need a very very patient owner. She will take a few weeks to settle and even then will still be cautious. She is by no means aggressive in any way shape or form, but just lacks trust and has a lot of fear. Kid 10+ would be fine as we think loud noises and sudden movements will scare her. She is fine with cats. Bea still has some leash training to do but is getting the hang of it. She will be a flight risk from the start and will need a secure fence.
