Rio came to us as a found stray with his brother. At just four months old this little pup has been through hell. His tail was improperly banded and as soon as he arrived it looked like it was falling off. We put him in our car and rushed him straight to the vet. Rio went into emergency surgery to amputate his tail. The vet said if he went one more day he would have died from blood loss. The bands were all the way down to the bone. Rio came out of surgery with flying colors and was able to come home the next day. Fast forward another 10 days and Rio broke with parvo. Luckily his foster mom recognized the signs and we got him to the emergencey room right away. He spent three days at the emergency hospital fighting for his life and he just wasnt done. Rio beat parvo and got to come home! He is still not completely out of the woods yet. He has a lot of vetting to complete and we need to make sure he is protected and healthy before he starts looking for his forever home. Rio is a beautiful 4 month old red merle standard aussie. He loves other dogs and kids. He has been through so much at the hands of an irresponsible breeder. We cant wait for him to be ready to find his forever home!
