Smokey comes to us as an owner surrender. He is a beautiful corgi who is learning a whole new way of life. He is a little shy and reserved but is gaining more confidence every day. He is not leash trained and still learning to trust people and get comfy. Right now, Smokey is just a shell of a dog. He struggles to find joy in simple things and that’s all due to a lack of trust. Smoke will absolutely need a PATIENT adopter. He is not like your typical corgi. He eats when no one is looking (at night) and only goes potty when he’s left alone. He loves being brushed and quiet evenings in his dog bed. He does not seek out affection and will need someone who is willing to build his confidence little by little. Smokey is a dog where what you see is not what you get. He will take a lot of time to show his true colors. We are looking for a corgi experienced home that will not push Smokey’s limits too fast. He will build his relationship with you on his own terms. Smokey NEEDS another socialized dog in the home to teach him how to dog and how to trust people. He also needs a yard that he can come and go in as he pleases. No little kids for now. Cats are just fine.
