Toby comes to us as an owner surrender after a visitor to the home reached in his kennel unexpectedly and Toby got scared and bit them. While it’s unfortunate that this was not Toby’s fault and his family jumped to conclusions, we are grateful that he found his way to us!
Toby is an aussie mix and about 3 years old. After going through his records, Toby went from 55 lbs to 67 lbs…to 105 lbs in less than two years. Yep. Toby currently weighs in at 105.4 lbs and a health weight for him should be between 60 and 70 lbs. Toby will need someone who will put a lot of time and dedication into helping him lose weight. He needs to lose 30-40 lbs. He has been going on walks multiple times a day and loves it. He will need an active family that will play fetch with him, take him to park, and walk him. Because of his weight he has some joint issues but that will get so much better after he thins out some.
Toby is wonderful with other dogs. He is a big goofy boy who loves snuggles on the couch and kisses before bed. His eyes might be your weakness but don’t cave in and give him all the cookies! He would be great with kids who respect boundaries and have been raised with dogs. Primarily 8+! No kitties for this boy. He would be fine in an apartment that doesn’t have a weight restriction on dogs and an owner who loves walks!
