Once upon a midnight dreary… a very sweet little Corgi found himself waiting patiently for a second chance.
 
Edgar Allan Poe — “Poe” for short — is a distinguished gentleman estimated to be around 5 years old, wrapped in a handsome red-and-white coat and carrying the quiet wisdom only a senior dog can possess. After being dropped at a North Texas shelter, Poe’s story could have ended in stress and uncertainty — but we have a soft spot for seniors and couldn’t let him spend his golden years watching the clock in a kennel. But SURPRISE our vet aged him at just 5 years old! He's has the wisdom of a much older dog, and you can see from his grayed muzzle that he has had a tough life. Don't worry sweet boy, we are here to make sure the next chapter is the BEST chapter. 
Now safe in rescue, Poe is showing everyone exactly who he is: gentle, calm, and endlessly loving.
 
He’s fully vetted, crate trained, potty trained, and wonderfully easy to live with. Poe gets along beautifully with dogs, cats, and kids alike, making him a truly adaptable companion. He prefers cozy naps over chaos, soft beds over wild adventures, and peaceful companionship over anything else.
 
Leisurely strolls, quiet evenings, and snuggling close to his people are his idea of perfection. He’s affectionate without being demanding — the kind of dog who simply wants to be near you, offering steady companionship and soft tail wags through life’s everyday moments.
 
Senior dogs love deeply, settle in quickly, and ask for very little. Poe is no exception — just a comfy place to rest, gentle hands, and someone willing to give his story the happy ending it deserves.
