When Iris's breeder passed away, she was one of eight Corgis welcomed into NTASR after spending her life having puppies instead of simply being someone's beloved pet.
Now it's Iris's turn.
At 10 years old and around 40 pounds, Iris has mastered the perfect balance between "let's take a nice stroll" and "let's take a nice nap." She may be a senior, but don't tell her that—this sweet girl still has plenty of pep in her step and enjoys exploring the world around her.
 
Iris is affectionate without being clingy, happily spending time on her own before wandering over for some love. And if you stop petting her before she's ready? Expect a gentle little nudge to remind you that your job isn't quite finished.
 
She's a dream companion—walking beautifully on a leash, crate trained, potty trained, and house trained. Iris gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and kids, making her an easy fit for just about any family. The only thing she'll ask is a little help with stairs every now and then.
 
After spending the first chapter of her life raising puppies, Iris deserves a second chapter filled with cozy beds, gentle walks, endless ear scratches, and a family who loves her simply because she's Iris.
