Logan is a ray of sunshine, with a big smile, and confident, playful personality. She was found on the street after being on her own for a bit (we think about 6 months). Local animal shelters refused to take her once a good samaritan was able to capture her, and she was HEAVILY pregnant.
Early June she had a litter of 8 puppies, though one passed away. Those seven are thriving in rescue and we are looking to get them into foster homes in pairs...
She's house trained and will scratch at the door or ring the bells when she needs to go out. She's a mixed breed with a long body and short legs (dachshund or corgi somewhere in there, though we can't say for sure), a cream and white coat, and a big fluffy tail. Don't let the legs fool you though, she's got a wicked vertical jump and has no trouble keeping up with an Aussie in a game of chase. She's food motivated, fearless, and walks with her tail up high, sashaying as she goes.
She enjoys poking around a backyard, but she won't dig it up — unless it's to find the bones she skillfully buried. She will dart through fence openings or out the door if given an opportunity. She's also quite the bug hunter, chasing down and eating them (haha) — especially cicadas! She's got a good balance of energy — she'll get the zoomies and chase a ball around, but she's also happy to just curl up next to you, tuck her face in the crook of your arm, and take a nap.
She is AMAZING with kids, befriends all other dogs, but would do just as well as an only dog getting all the attention. She impressively engages other dogs to play — it is very sweet to see her as the life of the party. She will resource guard food and bones (occasionally), and is reactive to kids on scooters... not bikes or others walking, just scooters.
She does get car sick, especially if she has eaten prior to the drive. Logan is a fantastic little dog that just wants to be loved, lay on her back like a baby in your arms, gives sweet kisses, and is always up for playing with toys, balls, or a flirt pole... the best little lap dog ever.
