Lottie comes to us as an owner surrender. She has suffered from lots of skin issues in her life. She has bad allergies and will need someone who can afford to maintain allergy meds and skin care. She is responding great to benedryl right now. Lottie is great with other dogs but takes a while to warm up to people. She’s not aggressive by any means, just shy. She will need an adopter who is patient and encouraging of her to open up her shell on her own time. She’ll also need someone who can take on the financial commitment of maintaining her skin. She is very sweet once she settles in and is comfortable with you.

Lottie has a more reserved personality around people but loves playing with her foster friends. After some time getting accustomed, Lottie likes to be mischievous and will often take items out of the cabinets and run around the house with it. As Lottie opens up, you will often find her following you around the house and you’ll be able to get within arms reach for pets, however, sudden or quick movements will result in her backing away. Lottie’s foster parents are working on getting her comfortable with walking on a leash and showing her people can be a positive experience. Lottie loves treats but is still working on being comfortable with taking them from your hand. Lottie loves running around with other dogs and chewing on a lumabone, but will resource guard her bone at times. She is not a huge fan in the kennel and some nights you might hear her howling for your attention. Potty training has been a work in progress as she will mark around the home but her foster parents are positive this with diminish after her spay. If you want a pup who needs more time and patience to open up, we know Lottie will love you forever for it.
