Scar

Scar was surrendered to a local shelter after being involved and injured in a dog fight. He was rescue only for how severe his injuries were. We jumped into action and pulled him into rescue! Scar’s wounds have healed and his cherry eye has been surgically corrected.

The amount of confidence he still has amazes his foster parents. Scar is a high driven Frenchie who will zone in on activities that grab his attention like ball and snack time. Because of his previous dog fight, Scar would be best in a home with smaller dogs or by himself so he receives all the patience and work needed to put into his drive. Scar will not do well with livestock as his prey drive sets in. His foster parents are working on his leash manners, composing himself, and basic home behaviors such as jumping. Scar needs a parent who will accept him for his triggered past and be patient with him when he zones in on his attention grabbers. He also needs a strong and confident owner who will give him structure and put in the time to work with his energy. When Scar’s drive and mental stimulation has been worked, he will sit on command for some peanut butter and at night will snuggle up and give you lots of kisses to show his love for being so patient with him. He’s doing great with potty training and rarely needs a kennel. Scar is high energy and would love agility he’ll need someone homer more often than not as he will likely become destructive if his energy needs aren’t met.

Scar would not be good with kids. Short nose breed experience preferred but not required.
