When 38 dogs were rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation in Smith County, NTASR was able to welcome 21 into our care.
 
Valor was one of the last three we were able to bring to safety.
We couldn't leave him behind.
 
Estimated to be around 7 years old and weighing 34 pounds, Valor is everything you'd hope for in a companion—gentle, calm, and full of quiet love. Like many dogs who haven't always known kindness, he takes a little time to warm up to new people. But once you earn his trust, you'll have a loyal shadow for life.
 
His foster says he follows them—and their kids—from room to room, always wanting to be close to the people he loves. Whether you're making dinner, folding laundry, or relaxing on the couch, Valor is happy just being part of the family.
 
He's wonderfully easygoing with other pets, happily playing with the family's small dog while politely pretending the cat doesn't even exist. He's also crate trained, potty trained, house trained, and food motivated, making him an easy dog to continue building confidence with.
 
Valor isn't flashy. He isn't demanding.
He's simply the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart.
 
The best things in life are often worth waiting for, and Valor is no exception. Give him a little patience, a little grace, and a safe place to land, and he'll spend the rest of his life showing you just how much love one rescued dog can give.
